November 6, 2016: Times Change - Great TV Doesn't

You'll find ten more ads today, from the July 3-9, 1999 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from July 5 & 6, 1999 editions of The Blade. There are two additions, from TV Guide, to the NBC gallery. Both of them are Sunday, 7/4/99 full-page ads for daytime dramas. The first ad is for Days of Our Lives, with Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn in "The Wedding Event Of The Summer." The second ad is for the premiere of Passions (secret desires. forbidden magic. intriguing mystery. limitless passion.) There are also two additions, from Peach Sections of The Blade, to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, starting with a Monday, 7/5/99 ad for Sci-Fi Channel's 4th of July Weekend Twilight Zone Marathon (Rod Serling). There's also a Tuesday, 7/6/99 ad for A&E's Biography of Tim Conway. The other six ads are additions, from TV Guide, to the Vintage Cable Ads gallery. The first one is a full-page color ad for Petticoat Junction on TV Land, with Linda Kaye Henning, Lori Saunders, and Meredith MacRae (Times change. Great TV doesn't.), followed by another color ad, for Emeril Live (...now at ate pm.), on Food Network. Next is a Saturday, 7/3/99 ad, for "The Postman Always Rings Twice" and "Detour" on Turner Classic Movies (Summer of Darkness, a film noir festival). There's also a Sunday, 7/4/99 ad for HGTV's Restore America with Bob Vila, followed by a 7/4/99 full-page ad for the premiere of Showtime's The Hoop Life, "The Hardwood" (Mykelti Williamson). Today's last ad is a 7/5/99 ad for AMC's Monday night lineup of Hollywood Fashion Machine, followed by "How to Steal a Million" with Audrey Hepburn.
