November 2, 2016: Greatest Commercials of All-Time

There are eight more ads today, from the June 26 - July 2, 1999 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from June 27 and July 2, 1999 editions of The Blade, plus one Random Pages gallery addition from The Blade, a Monday, 6/28/99 Peach Section column by Chris Borrelli, "Farr Clinging to Toledoan's Hearts." The column referred to Port Charles as a CBS show. It actually aired on ABC, Also included is another item on the emmy-winning Zoo Today. There's one addition, from TV Guide, to the NBC gallery, a full-page color ad for the upcoming premiere of the daytime soap, Passions. There's also one addition, from The Blade, to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Friday, 7/2/99 ad, in the Peach Section, for "Guys and Dolls" on AMC, with Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons. There are four additions, all from TV Guide, to the Vintage Cable Ads gallery. The first one is a Saturday, 6/26/99 full-page ad for Showtime's Rude Awakening, "The Grateful Living" with Sherilyn Fenn, Lynn Redgrave and Jonathan Pepper (Another year of keeping the censors busy). Next is another 6/26/99 ad, for Beggars and Choosers, "Once More Unto the Breach," also on Showtime, with Malcolm Laffley, Lori Valpone and Brad Advail. There's also a Monday, 6/28/99 ad and "close-up" description for A&E's Investigative Reports, "Guns in America," hosted by Bill Kurtis. It's followed by a Wednesday, 6/30/99 full-page ad for Greatest Commercials of All Time, on TV Land. The three pictures in the ad were for Alka Seltzer (Spicy Meatball), Bartles and Jaymes, and the "Stop Pollution" PSA with the crying Indian (Iron Eyes Cody).

Today's last two ads, from The Blade, are both Sunday, 6/27/99 full-page ads. The first one is a Sports Section ad for the upcoming Kroger-Pepsi Freedom Celebration in Toledo, co-sponsored by WIOT-FM. The second one is a "Jamie Farr Kroger Classic" section ad (Weekly Grounds Badges on Sale at Kroger!).
