October 30, 2012: One Good Turn After Another

 

I added seventeen more ads today, all from September, 1979 plus two more Random Pages gallery additions from Peach Sections of The Blade. There's a Wednesday, 9/5/79 story by Norman Dresser, “Ex-Toledoan Moves Up At WBNS-TV, Columbus,” about Michelle Holden, and a Wednesday, 9/12/79 story, “Ch. 11 Will Broadcast Breast Cancer Special,” about So Easy, So Safe, hosted by Stephanie Duchess. I'll have an ad for that special next time. There are four additions to the Channel 11 gallery including a Thursday, 9/6/79 ad for The Terry Cooper Special. You can watch that special on You Tube. The other three are for movies on The Big Show, a Monday, 9/3/79 ad for “Francis Joins the WACS,” a Tuesday, 9/11/79 ad for “Circus World” (John Wayne) and a Wednesday, 9/12/79 ad for “Evel Knievel” (George Hamilton). There are also four additions to the Channel 11 News gallery including three for meteorologist Charles Merlin Umpenhour, a Tuesday, 9/4/79 ad, a Wednesday, 9/5/79 ad and a Monday, 9/10/79 ad. There's also a Thursday, 9/13/79 ad with Jeff Heitz, Umpenhour and Orris Tabner. There are four additions to the Channel 13 gallery including three more for The Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, a Saturday, 9/1/79 ad, a Sunday, 9/2/79 TV Tab ad and a Monday, 9/3/79 ad, all using the line, “Even if you miss a little, you miss a lot.” There's also a Monday, 9/10/79 ad for Happy Days Again and Tic Tac Dough (Wink Martindale). There's one addition to the PBS gallery, a Saturday, 9/8/79 ad for Summerfest '79 on channel 30, with the Charlie Daniels Band, Pete Fountain and Al Hirt.

There are two additions to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Tuesday, 9/4/79 ad (One good turn after another) and a Wednesday, 9/5/79 ad (CableSystem subscribers have a right to be picky).

There's one addition to the Radio Station Ads gallery, a Friday, 9/14/79 ad for a Michigan vs. Notre Dame football game and there's one addition to the Other Vintage ads gallery, a Tuesday, 9/4/79 ad for Dominic's Restaurant.
