April 22, 2017: The First Local Independent Cable Television Station in the United States

There are eight more ads today, from the October 30-November 5, 1999 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from the Sunday, 10/31/99 edition of The Blade. There's one addition, from TV Guide, to the FOX gallery, a full-page color ad for Digimon: Digital Monsters, seen on the Fox Kids Network. There's also one addition, from TV Guide, to the PBS gallery. It's another full-page color ad, for Dragon Tales. There's also one addition, from The Blade, to the ToledoVision 5 gallery, a Sunday, 10/31/99 ad. It's another "TV5 Millennium Moment" ad with TV5 host, Teresa Pollick, for TV5's 10th Anniversary (In August 1989, TV5 became the first local independent cable television station in the United States). I scanned this ad from an actual paper copy of "TV Week." There are four additions, from TV Guide, to the Vintage Cable Ads gallery, starting with a two-page color ad, inside the front cover, for Nickelodeon Nation (If you're a kid, you're in!), followed by a full-page color ad, on the back cover, (Nickelodeon Nation: We pledge allegiance to kids). There's a larger version of the two-page ad, here. There's also a color ad for Gordon Elliot's Door Knock Dinners on Food Network, followed by a one more full-page color ad, for the new cable network from Nickeloden called Noggin. Today's last ad is an addirion, from The Blade, to the Other Vintage ads gallery. It's a full-page ad, in the Real Estate Section, for toledoblade.com (have you seen it?). More ads, from the October 31-November 5, 1999 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from the online archives of The Toledo Blade, are on the way...
