December 17, 2016: Holiday Movies & Specials

There are nine more additions to the Holiday Season Ads gallery today, from the December 18-24, 1999 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from December 19, 20 & 24, 1999 editions of The Blade. The first two are from The Blade's Sunday, 12/19/99 edition, a Living Sunday Section ad for Toledo Children's Hospital's "Make-A-Wish for the Millennium." on New Year's Eve, at The Pinnacle." It's followed by a TV Week cover for "It's a Wonderful Life" with James Stewart and Donna Reed, broadcast on Christmas Eve, on NBC. I scanned this from an actual newspaper, not from the online archives. There's a larger version, here. The next two are TV Guide listing pages. There are two Sunday, 12/19/99 pages which include some 6:30 - 8:00 pm listings and two "close-ups," one for The Simpsons, "Gift of the Magi." on Fox, and one for A&E's Biography, "The Unknown Jesus." You can find a larger version of those two pages, here. Next is a Monday, 12/20/99 page, with some 10:00-11:00 pm listings and a "close-up" for Ally McBeal, "Blue Christmas" (Calista Flockhart). The rest of today's ads are from pages of The Blade. There's a Monday, 12/20/99 full-page ad for "1st Night Toledo Together 2000" (Don't drop the ball this New Year's Eve). Next is a Monday, 12/20/99 Peach Section column by Chris Borrelli, "For Some, Christmas is 30 Days Long," about Holiday music on Toledo radio stations. There's also a Friday, 12/24/99 ad for Food Town (Open Christmas Eve until 6 PM. Closed Christmas day. Season's Greetings from all your friends at Food Town). Next is a 12/24/99 full-page ad. It's the annual "from our family to yours" ad with The Blade's employees names. The last ad today is another 12/24/99 full-page ad with TV5's "Holiday Movies & Specials," Christmas From Quebec, Christmas in Toledo, The Eyes of Christmas "Scrooge", Christmas Service from Washington Cathedral, "Scrooge," Mi Gente, My People, David Sheehan's Holiday Movie Magic, Christmas with the Stars, Christmas From Hollywood, "The Christmas Box," and Great Moments of the 20th Century.
