November 21, 2013: Fine-Tuning

 

There are seven additional ads today, all from August 1990, plus four more Random Pages gallery additions, from pages of The Blade. There are two from the Friday, 8/24/90 Peach Section, a Blade Runner column by Alan Abrams, “Q Morning Zoo No. 1—But Do Its Listeners Buy?” and other Toledo radio news, and a Television by Tom Ensign column, “Local Stations Fine-Tuning Fall Afternoon Lineups” which also includes other Toledo television stories. Next are two Thursday, 8/30/90 stories, the first one a Homer Brickey story, “Mud Hens' Moniker Sparks Successful Marketing Effort” which includes a photo of Jamie Farr, and another Tom Ensign story in the Peach Section, “CableSystem Expands TV5 Program Schedule.” There's one addition to the Channel 36 gallery, a Thursday, 8/23/90 ad for The Simpsons on Fox, now on Thursdays. The episode that night was a rerun of “The Telltale Head.” There's also one addition to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Sunday, 8/26/90 ad for WWF Summer Slam on Impulse pay-per-view. And there's one addition to the Radio Station Ads gallery, a Wednesday, 8/29/90 ad for WWWM-FM 105.5, where Mark Standriff and Wendy Sheridan were giving away a thousand gallons of gasoline. The last four ads today are additions to the Other Vintage ads gallery. The first two are Kroger ads, a Wednesday, 8/22/90 full-page ad (Recycle with Ohio Zoos), and a Thursday, 8/23/90 ad for the 25th German American Festival. Next is a Thursday, 8/30/90 full-page ad for the Jeep Cherokee, followed by a Friday, 8/31/90 ad for Dinosaurs Alive at the Toledo Zoo, sponsored by Food Town and Pepsi-Cola.
